Michael Caines to launch Junior Chamber
The Exeter Chamber of Commerce is launching a separate organisation for young members at a special event on February 13.
The Junior Chamber seeks to bring together like minded young business people between the ages of 20-35 in the Exeter area.
Although it will be part of the Exeter Chamber it will act as a voice for young business people, offering them the means to promote, support or oppose legislative or other measures affecting trade, commerce and industry in the area.
The Junior Chamber will encourage young business people to network and develop networking skills.
It also aims to support the development of its members' 'business skills' by providing them with opportunities to attend events and get involved in projects. All events and projects will aim at increasing members' skills and business contacts, and therefore their career prospects, while also helping to promote the city and sub-region.
By building links with Exeter's educational bodies and the Exeter College Young Chamber, Junior Chamber members will be provided with the opportunity to work with those still in education on projects that will develop the students' skill set and knowledge, as well as promote business growth in the Exeter area.
The first Junior Chamber event will be taking place on Thursday 13th February 5.30pm - 7.30pm at The Business Centre, Victoria House, Exeter College with special guest Michael Caines MBE speaking about his success in business.
