Buble act returns to Tiverton for Hospiscare night
A popular Michael Buble tribute act will get Tiverton into the Christmas swing when it returns in November to help raise money for Hospiscare.
Singer Jamie Somers wowed the Tiverton audience earlier this year when he performed the Canadian crooner’s hits at Heathcoat Hall.
With requests flooding in for a repeat performance Jamie jumped at the chance to leave Tiverton ‘feeling good’ once more with his Christmas Special on Friday, November 29.
Event organiser Ian Thomas said: “Jamie was so popular on his last visit here. His interaction with the audience made him extremely popular and has led to lots of requests to bring him back again.”
The Michael Buble tribute act first came to Tiverton in April 2013 and helped Ian to raise more than £400 for Hospiscare - a local charity that provides free-of-charge care and support to people with a terminal diagnoses in Exeter, mid and east Devon.
More than £1000 of draw prizes have already been donated from Devon businesses for the event, with meal vouchers, rounds of golf, haircuts, meat vouchers and flowers all up for grabs on the night.
Ian is hoping that the evening, being held at Heathcoat Hall, will be just as successful as the last.
He said: “The evening of fun could be just the thing for early Christmas parties. Jamie does his first set as Michael Buble and his second set as a variety of artists, so there will be something for everyone.”
Singer Jamie is no stranger to performing at charity events but says that helping to raise funds for Hospiscare gives him a great feeling.
He said: “I do a lot of different charity events and they are all special, but this Christmas Special will mean that I am helping a friend, who has Hospiscare close to his heart, to raise money.
“It gives me a great feeling to be doing something that I really enjoy whilst at the same time helping others. Hospiscare will be around for many years to come and I am privileged to be doing my bit for such a great cause.”
Singer Jamie is looking forward to returning to Tiverton after receiving an ‘amazing’ response during his first visit.
He said: “Each performance is different and you never know what to expect, but I had a great rapport with the Tiverton audience and was well received.
“I was the first Michael Buble act to perform there and the atmosphere was fantastic. I am over the moon to be returning to Tiverton.”
Tickets for the Michael Buble tribute and disco cost £10 and are available from the Hospiscare shop Tiverton, JT Partyhouse or Busy Bee or by telephoning 07886 652616.
