Pakistan: Powerful explosion hits Sibi, casualties reported
A powerful explosion hit the Balochistan city of Sibi on Thursday killing at least 10 people, local media said. Another 25 were also injured in the blast.
The explosion occurred outside the market on Nishtar Road in the Karim Chowk area of Sibi.
The causes of the blast were not immediately known.
Several shops were destroyed in the explosion.
Balochistan, the country's largest province, lies in the mountains of southwest Pakistan. This remote region has been the battleground for a 60-year-long insurgency by the Baloch ethnic minority. The Baloch insurgency often called Pakistan's dirty war has resulted in more than 80,000 displaced, hundreds of cases of enforced disappearances, and many deaths.
