St John Ambulance’s young volunteers give over 45,000 hours of lifesaving first aid support

Inspirational youngsters from across South West played essential roles, delivering healthcare and supporting local communities with St John Ambulance, in 2022.

Of the 9,000 5 to 17-year-olds in the first aid and health response charity’s Badger and Cadet programmes, 1,633 dedicated individuals gave over 45,700 hours of their time providing lifesaving first aid and care alongside adult St John volunteers – 2,760 of which were given by young people in the South West.

Childrens Charity Brainwave Raises £40,000 to fund a new therapist

Brainwave has announced that they achieved their target of raising an additional £40,000, to support with the costs of a full-time therapist for a year.

Applications have opened for ten people to join its two-year extensive graduate training programme.
