Have you just bought an electric scooter and want to learn more about it? Here, you will find out everything you need about your new vehicle!

The two-wheeled electric scooter has an electric motor that is driven by a set of batteries. Additionally, it has a little box in the scooter's rear called an electronic controller that ensures the management and operation of the device.

With the exception of the different technology that powers it, the performance of an electric scooter is the same as that of a traditional petrol scooter, but it also comes with several benefits that promise to make it the vehicle of the future within a few years, at least according to manufacturers and a growing number of customers.

1. Do research on the best scooter for your needs

Before buying your electric scooter, make sure to do some research and choose the one that suits your needs. It should have the appropriate power, and features and most importantly supports your weight. The best thing to do is to check out this collection of electric scooters by Official Hoverboard. You can find so many e-scooters to choose from, with different prices and characteristics that it will be hard to make a final decision. The ones that have more features are more expensive. So, determine your budget first, before researching.

2. Don't ride your scooter in busy areas or close to cars and pedestrians

Make sure to avoid using your electric scooter in busy areas or very close to cars and pedestrians. Crowded places can be dangerous for you and those surrounding you. It is easier to get distracted, confused, and cause an incident.

3. Do wear a helmet and other protective gear when riding your scooter

Wearing protective gear is mandatory when riding your scooter. It will protect your head, elbows, and knees if you lose stability and fall. Even though there are still cities and countries that haven’t regulated this by law, you should do it for your protection and safety.

4. Don't drink and drive

Are you allowed to have a drink before using your electric scooter? Everyone is aware that drinking alcohol does not allow you to safely operate a vehicle, but still drink a glass or two and get in trouble.

Simply put, the response is no.

The regulation applies to all on-the-road vehicles and is not just for electric scooters.

5. Do be aware of your surroundings at all times when riding

It is very easy to lose track of your surroundings while riding an electronic scooter.

Pay close attention to any oncoming vehicles, pedestrians, and other hazards. You must exercise extreme caution to prevent accidents.

Respect the laws and regulations, and keep away from crowded regions.

Avoid holes and slippery surfaces

Holes may have water and cracks in them.

These are among the leading causes of e-scooter incidents. Ride carefully, or if necessary, slow down and stop.

The best course of action is to maintain your composure while reducing your speed gradually until you come to a complete stop. If you can't stop, move from the traffic or to a less crowded place.

Also, be very careful when riding an e-scooter on wet surfaces like marble tiles, metal surfaces, muddy sidewalks, and wet roads.

Make sure to drive moderately if you need to use your scooter on such surfaces. And always pay extra attention to avoid incidents.

6. Don't leave your scooter lying around in public places

Electric scooters are becoming more and more common in traffic, which is not at all surprising given their usefulness and affordability. Driving an electric scooter is 29 times less expensive than driving a car, and parking it is a lot easier as it does not take too much space. But there are rules in parking as well, meaning that you are not allowed to just park your electronic scooter anywhere.

However, since riding an electric scooter is not covered by the Road Traffic Safety Act and is a relatively new mode of transportation you should avoid parking it in public areas.

Drivers of electric scooters currently have little choice but to maneuver the parking on sidewalks because the law currently in effect prohibits them from parking in public places.
