Great British Bake Off gets highest ever rating episode on BBC Two

The final episode of series three of Great British Bake Off last night had an average of 6.5 million viewers, 25.3% share, with a peak of 7.2 million viewers seeing law student John Whaite crowned as the Bake Off winner.

Janice Hadlow, Controller of BBC Two, says: “I’m absolutely thrilled by the phenomenal success of Great British Bake Off – all the ingredients of record ratings, a worthy winner, the expertise of Mary and Paul, wonderful presenters Mel and Sue and a brilliant series put together by Love productions plus of course all those irresistible cakes have come together to make a very special programme for BBC Two.”
