Exeter climbs in top 20 of Guardian University Guide 2026

The University of Exeter has increased its standing in the top 20 UK universities in the Guardian University Guide 2026 .

Exeter climbed one place to 17th in the latest guide, published on Saturday 13 September.

The result that means the University of Exeter has secured a top 20 place in all three major university rankings.

Teaching excellence, student satisfaction and career prospects were among the factors used to rank universities.

Innovative event run by Active East Devon, District, Town and County Councils gives local projects a boost

Over 30 people from six Honiton based community groups packed the town’s Beehive centre as they took part in the third annual Honiton Dragons’ Den – a community funding event, which took place on 26 October 2016. 200 free theatre tickets for Exeter students

As a result of a new partnership between The Bike Shed Theatre and Hawksmoor Investment Management, two hundred young people from Exeter’s secondary schools and colleges will be given the opportunity to go to the theatre.

Complimentary tickets will be given to students who might not ordinarily be able to attend. Visiting in small groups up to five, they will also have the chance to meet the cast and the creative team to find out more about the production and how new shows are created.

University; what a place, what a time. Nowhere else can you unapologetically sleep most of the day and party all of the night; a cycle only punctuated by trips to a local convenience store in your PJs. Offwell Primary from Honiton, Redhills Primary in Exeter and the ACE MAT have been successful in gaining Erasmus+ funding to take part in an Erasmus + project which will be coordinated by the English teacher, Enrique Ruiz from CEIP Andrés García Soler in Spain.

This project, therefore, includes these two Primary schools from Devon, the MAT, the Spanish school, Scuola Padre Pio from Altamura, Italy and Rigas Classical Gymnasium from Latvia as well as Antonio de Nebrija University from Madrid.

Exeter School pupils, parents and staff have succeeded in raising over £3,000 for charity over the first half-term of the academic year on top of collections of food and household essentials.

Three Houses have held cake sales to raise funds for their chosen charities. Daw raised almost £150 for The Francis Crick Institute, Drake raised over £200 for Tearfund and Crossing collected over £300 for Cancer Research.
