A team of students from the University of Exeter have reached the final knock-out round of an esteemed international competition, designed to help boost their career potential.

Cameron Ballard and Max Beech are part of a team who have made it through to the final showdown in the celebrated City Internships competition – which sees the winning entry being given a fully-sponsored internship next summer.

Pupils from Marpool Primary School in Exmouth took a free train trip on the Avocet Line which links Exmouth and Exeter, to visit the Royal Albert Memorial Museum on 30th November 2016. The trip was organised by the Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership under their “Train trips for schoolchildren” initiative. This aims to introduce more children to rail travel and is run in conjunction with Great Western Railway, who provided free travel for the children and teachers.

The University of Exeter’s position as being amongst the most innovative global institutions has been strengthened after winning a prestigious award at a high-profile ceremony, known as the ‘Oscars’ of higher education.

Student of the year is aiming sky high

West Exe’s current student of the year is aiming high during her last year at secondary school.

Camille Murray won the school’s 2016 student of the year award, also gaining a certificate for a hundred percent attendance throughout her time at West Exe.

The award has given Camille, 15, the inspiration to excel in everything she does. The student is keen to enrol on Exeter College’s Flybe course next September.

Children from Stoke Hill Junior School, Exeter, had a fun time during Road Safety Week (November 21-27, 2016) thinking about – and illustrating - how they can help to make roads safer.

The national awareness week is the flagship event of Brake, the road safety charity, and called for people to ‘Make the Brake Pledge’ to change their behaviour to make roads safer for all users – whether drivers, passengers or pedestrians.

The Year 2 pupils were very excited to welcome Professor James Daybell (co-creator of ‘Histories of the Unexpected’ with the BBC’s Sam Willis), for the making of their first podcast in Exeter Cathedral's Chapter House and the opening of their exhibition, ‘A Walk Through Time.’

Innovative event run by Active East Devon, District, Town and County Councils gives local projects a boost

200 free theatre tickets for Exeter students

As a result of a new partnership between The Bike Shed Theatre and Hawksmoor Investment Management, two hundred young people from Exeter’s secondary schools and colleges will be given the opportunity to go to the theatre.

University; what a place, what a time. Nowhere else can you unapologetically sleep most of the day and party all of the night; a cycle only punctuated by trips to a local convenience store in your PJs.
