Exeter climbs in top 20 of Guardian University Guide 2026

The University of Exeter has increased its standing in the top 20 UK universities in the Guardian University Guide 2026 .

Exeter climbed one place to 17th in the latest guide, published on Saturday 13 September.

The result that means the University of Exeter has secured a top 20 place in all three major university rankings.

Teaching excellence, student satisfaction and career prospects were among the factors used to rank universities.

PPE4Exeter Campaign Raises over £3,000 of £26,000 target in first weekend

A grassroots community project has raised an incredible £3000 in aid of their production of vital Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for community-based health and care workers in their first weekend. They are hoping to continue raising around £1000 a day to keep up with the demand for face shields in the local community.

Medicine students who opted to graduate early to accelerate becoming junior doctors in the COVID-19 crisis fashioned home-made mortarboards to take part in the University of Exeter ’s first virtual graduation.

Ninety five final year students chose to graduate three months early so that they can join NHS colleagues in Exeter and the South West in fighting the disease.
