A prestigious Army Scholarship has been awarded to an Exeter School Sixth Former.

Upper Sixth Former Hope Evans is the recipient of a Sixth Form scholarship which means she has a guaranteed place at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) following university.

Army Section Senior Cadet Hope plans on studying Medicine at university and said she was delighted at the opportunity.

"I have wanted to be in the Army since a young age and been aiming for this for a long time so I am very glad," she said.

The Army Officer Scholarship Scheme (AOSS) is offered to high quality students who have the potential to make excellent Army Officers.  The scholarships are very competitive and only the strongest performers in the competitive Army Officer selection process are offered them.

Head of Army Section Captain Dan Trim said: "Only 100 scholarships are awarded each year across the whole country so competition is tough. We are very proud of Hope and wish her every success in the future."
