One lucky student will ‘Live Rent Free’ for an entire term

CrossCountry have teamed up with NUS to offer one student a term’s free rent! Imagine what living rent free for an entire term could mean: posh nosh instead of beans-on-toast, a new laptop or perhaps funding for a gap year. The possibilities are endless.

The ‘Live Rent Free’ competition is now live and students across the UK, including Exeter, can enter through CrossCountry’s Student Rail Deals Facebook page: www.facebook.com/studentraildeals.

To be in with a chance of winning a term’s rent – up to the value of £1,500 – students need to click on ‘Live Rent Free’, ‘like’ the page and enter their details. And, they can share their ideas for what they would spend the money on by posting on theStudent Rail Deals Facebook page, once they’ve entered the competition.

CrossCountry run services to and from some of the most popular university cities, including Exeter. Almost 5,000 students* across the UK have taken advantage of the exclusive CrossCountry deal developed for NUS extra card holders which gives students an extra 10% off Advance tickets with CrossCountry on top of the discount they already get with a 16-25 Railcard . And, for students on the go, CrossCountry’s free Train Tickets mobile app provides train times and information on live departures so there really is no excuse for missing that train home to see the family and friends.

David Watkin, Commercial Director at CrossCountry said: “We know that cash-strapped students have little money to spend on travelling and sometimes that trip home or to see a mate is just too expensive. That’s why we developed the exclusive deal for NUS extra card holders to make rail travel more affordable for students. However, we wanted to go that one step further and make it even easier for one lucky student by paying a term’s rent for them. We’ve received almost 3,000 entries so far but expect many more before the competition closes at the end of November. If you haven’t entered already, make sure you visit the Student Rail Deals Facebook page for your chance to win.”
