Jack's joy at England call-up

Exeter Chiefs winger Jack Nowell says he is "over the moon" after he was named in Stuart Lancaster's 33-man England squad for the upcoming QBE Autumn Internationals.

The talented Cornishman is Exeter's sole representative in the England party, who over the course of November will tackle world champions New Zealand (Nov 8), South Africa (Nov 15), Samoa (Nov 22) and Australia (Nov 29).

Tom Merson from Bristol and West AC retained his winning title at Exeter’s 30th Great West Run 2014 this morning, with a time of one hour nine minutes and twenty one seconds, in good running conditions. In second place was Anders Grahl from Exeter University in one hour ten minutes and thirty seconds, followed by Shaun Antell in one hour ten minutes and forty seconds.

Late sucker punch floors Chiefs

A late sucker punch from Tongan Lisiate Fa’aoso floored Exeter Chiefs in their opening European Rugby Challenge Cup fixture away to Bayonne.

The imposing lock stole over for a converted try two minutes from time to deny Rob Baxter’s side from a hard fought victory at the Stade Jean Dauger.

Forgotten 12 to be remembered

For 100 years they have gone somewhat unnoticed, but 12 former Exeter Rugby Club players and officials are to be officially remembered with a new commemorative plaque at Sandy Park.

The lives of the forgotten few will be highlighted in a special memorial service which will take place at the stadium on Armistice Day, Tuesday 11 November, at 10.30am.
