Rob Baxter says Exeter Chiefs should set their sights high and look to be amongst the top clubs challenging for honours come the end of the season.

Having already advanced to one major final this term, the Devon club are now targeting a second as they look to advance to a first-ever European Challenge Cup Final on Friday, May 1.

Standing in the way of Baxter's in-form charges, however, are Aviva Premiership rivals Gloucester, who provide the opposition in tonight's mouth-watering semi-final at Kingsholm (7:45pm).

With both clubs have advanced to this stage with...

Baxter likes what he sees in new prop

As he has proved for a number of years now, Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter isn’t afraid to put his trust in players from the Championship making the step up to life in the Aviva Premiership.

Today, the Chiefs leader has added his latest new face to the club’s playing ranks for next season with the signing of prop Harry Williams from Jersey.

The talented tight-head, who has agreed a two-year deal with the Sandy Park outfit, is Baxter’s seventh new addition for next term and his second is as many weeks from English rugby’s second tier.

The 23-year-old, tight-head prop is Rob Baxter’s seventh recent signing having agreed terms on a two-year deal from Championship side Jersey.

An upcoming front-row force, Williams has nurtured his rugby career initially as a youngster at Wasps, before moving on for spells with Loughborough University, Nottingham and, more recently, Jersey.

Global feel to Devon’s first International Horse Trials

There will be a true global flavour to Bicton Arena’s first ever International Horse Trials, which take place from April 24 to 26, and are sponsored by Empire Coach Builders. Chiefs look to power on, says Dollman

Phil Dollman insists he and his Exeter Chiefs team-mates can ill afford to take their foot of the pedal as they look to push for honours over the final weeks of the season.

Having narrowly missed out on retaining their LV= Cup crown last month, Rob Baxter's side are still pushing hard on two other fronts with the Devon club currently occupying one of the four play-off spots in the Aviva Premiership, as well as having booked a first-ever European semi-final against Gloucester this Saturday (7:45pm).

For Dollman - one of a number of Chiefs who have been part of the club since...

Chiefs move back into top four

Match report: Exeter Chiefs 21 Northampton Saints 10

Exeter Chiefs underlined their Aviva Premiership play-off credentials with aplomb as they saw off visiting Northampton Saints at a packed Sandy Park.

A dominant set-piece, allied with razor-sharp attacking play and some defiant defensive work, ensured Rob Baxter’s side became the first side this season to complete the double over Jim Mallinder’s visitors.

Having won at Franklin’s Gardens back in November, the Chiefs produced arguably an even greater display in this latest outing to propel themselves back into the...
