On 8th December 2012 peacefully in Yatton aged 87 years, after a short illness formerly of Exeter.

Darling husband of Joan, much loved Dad of Cass, Richard and Anne-Marie, dearly loved father-in-law of Daniela and Roy, and a loving grandad of Sam, Iggi, Sophia and Frankie.

Funeral Service on Wednesday 19th December at the Sacred Heart RC Church, South Street at 10am for Mass followed by interment in Higher Cemetery.

On 1st December 2012 passed away peacefully in the RD&E Hospital aged 87 years after a short illness fought with dignity.

Devoted husband of Jean, loving dad of Sally and David, father-in-law of Mark and Liz, doting grandad of Lucy, Katie, Joe, Jack, Daniel, Tina and Amanda, and a loving great-grandad of Jamie and Nathan. Des will be sadly missed by family and friends.

British astronomer and broadcaster Sir Patrick Moore, who was born in Pinner, Middlesex on 4th Mar 1923, has passed away peacefully at his home in Selsey, West Sussex, at the age of 89.

Sir Patrick presented the BBC programme The Sky At Night for over 50 years, making him the longest-running host of the same television show ever. He wrote dozens of books on astronomy and his research was used by the US and the Russians in their space programmes.
