Leading local advice charity, Citizens Advice Exeter, has raised concerns about an overall 3.8% increase in the number of housing repossession cases listed at Exeter County Court in the six-month period ending 30th September. This is in comparison to the same period in 2016.

Steve Barriball, Citizens Advice Exeter Chief Executive, said: “In the last six-months there were 296 cases listed for repossession, an overall 3.8% increase, or 11 cases, on the previous year. However, there was a small reduction in mortgage repossessions, which were down by four cases.

Work to stabilise the embankment on parts of the Teign Valley Road will require further daytime road closures over the next fortnight.

A series of road closures on the stretch of the B3193 south of the Teign Valley Golf Club will be needed on Wednesday (1 November), Thursday (2 November), Friday (3 November) and Monday 6 November. The winners of the ‘Build for Bees’ competition, which encouraged Devon’s residents to build the biggest and best bug hotels for pollinators, have been decided.

There was heavy competition, with lots of creative and well-designed entries submitted from schools, community groups, individuals and families.

Niquita Potter, of East Budleigh, won the ‘best individual build’ category, while Friends of the Byes, a community nature group in Sidmouth, won the best community group build.
