Bollard removal work finally starts in Exeter after months of delays

Work to remove a set of bollards that risked the progress of extension work at an Exeter doctor’s surgery has finally got underway after months of back-and-forth.

Pinhoe Surgery has been approaching a vital deadline with building materials for its extension works due to be delivered next month.

But it has needed a set of bollards removed to enable the goods to be delivered.

Two researchers from the University of Exeter put elf before beauty to prepare to cycle 350 miles from London to Paris for the charity Alzheimer’s Society.

Drs Mark Tarrant and David Llewellyn launched their fundraising bid in full festive style, as they burned off the mince pies through starting their training for the epic cycle challenge.

Thousands of meals provided to needy by Tesco shoppers in Devon

Thousands of meals have been provided to people in need this Christmas thanks to customer donations at Tesco stores in Devon.

Across the UK a total of three million meals worth of food has been donated to charities FareShare and The Trussell Trust thanks to the Food Collection that ran in Tesco stores until December 2.

Supermarket shoppers were asked to donate long-life items to help people in need as part of their usual shop with Tesco topping up the value of the customer donations by 20%.

East Devon residents are making a real difference to the lives of the homeless and vulnerable this Christmas as their unwanted clothing and textiles go towards funding the invaluable work of The Salvation Army.

Police are appealing to the public for their assistance after launching an investigation into a sexual assault in an Exeter Nightclub.
