This summer, Brixham’s Fish Market will come alive with flavour and festivity as the South West Sardine Festival arrives on Sunday 03 August 2025, bringing a vibrant new celebration to the heart of one of Britain’s most historic fishing towns.

Free to attend and running from 12:00 to 21:30, the festival invites locals and visitors alike to experience a day inspired by coastal traditions, from the South West to the Mediterranean. At its heart is the British sardine - abundant, sustainable, and caught right here in the South West.

Poltimore Music & Arts Festival to go ahead as planned

Poltimore Music & Arts Festival will go ahead as planned on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May, despite a major fire that started in the library and ripped through the whole building last week.

The festival was originally being brought back after a five-year break to help with fundraising for the next stage of renovations at Poltimore House, following 20 years of restoration work.

Zeal celebrates topping out for net zero carbon hotel

Zeal Hotels held a topping-out ceremony for voco Zeal Exeter Science Park.

The four-star, 142-bedroom hotel, constructed with half the embodied carbon of a standard hotel, will generate 100 per cent of electricity consumed via the photo voltaic roof and wall panels, positioning it firmly in line with the 2050 Paris Agreement requirements and exceeding 2030 targets.

Devon & Cornwall Police have announced the arrival of a motorcycle simulator, which will be used to engage with inexperienced riders, in an effort to reduce the risk of motorcycle-related deaths and serious injuries on the roads.

Motorcyclists are one of the most vulnerable road user groups. Despite making up just 1% of total traffic, motorcyclists account for almost 21% of road deaths in Devon and Cornwall.
