International animal welfare charity The Donkey Sanctuary has been awarded an Artisan Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2019. The ‘Donkeys Matter’ garden will act as a focal point to celebrate the charity’s 50th anniversary and to showcase its international work. The Donkey Sanctuary was able to apply for a garden thanks to the generosity of a long-term supporter.

YouGov poll for The Poppy Factory indicates scale of challenge for those with mental health conditions, especially at Christmas

At least 4 in 5 (85 per cent) people in the South West of England think it would be difficult for someone living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to stay in paid work for 12 months or longer, new research1 shows.

The poll of 204 adults in the region was carried out by The Poppy Factory, which helps wounded, injured and sick veterans back into work in communities across the South West.

Former RD&E patient raises over £1500 for unit which saved her life

A sponsored swim from a former patient at the RD&E has raised over £1500 for the department which saved her life.

Sue Bryant, from Tiverton, Devon, was admitted to the intensive care unit in 2013 after developing Miller Fisher Syndrome. The condition, which is a form of Guillain-Barré syndrome and affects the nervous system, left Sue with profound muscle weakness. After spending 10 days on the unit, she was eventually well enough to be discharged to a medical ward where her intensive physiotherapy and rehabilitation continued.

Stagecoach South West has invested £2.5m in a fleet of 14 new, state-of-the-art, British built, single decker buses in Exeter – just in time for Christmas.

All of the vehicles boast luxurious high-backed, e-leather seats and multiple USB charging points.

As with the rest of the fleet, the new buses are fitted with technology that will allow customers to use the Stagecoach mobile app to track their bus live.
