Work to start on Heavitree Road bus improvements

Improvement work to enhance bus services on Heavitree Road in Exeter will get underway next month (February).

The scheme, which will start on Monday 2 February, involves the construction of a new traffic island and installation of a new set of traffic signals at the end of the outbound (eastbound) bus lane between Grendon Road and Polsloe Road/Barrack Road.

Channel 5 has officially announced Help the Animals at Christmas (1x180), a new live show on 21 December. Harry Beedham, a graduate engineer at global infrastructure services firm AECOM’s Exeter office, has been recognised at the STEM Inspiration Awards 2018 for his work to encourage young people to consider further science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) study and careers. Charter seeks to clear Exeter's streets of obstacles and clutter

Councils in Exeter have pledged to ensure that the city’s streets, pavements and walkways are kept free of clutter and obstacles and accessible to people affected by sight loss or mobility issues.

Leaders of both Exeter City Council and Devon County Council today (Wednesday 21 November) signed a Clear Streets Charter for the city.

The Charter sets out how the local authorities propose to work together to ensure that the city is as safe and obstacle free as possible. Exeter is one of the first places in the UK to adopt such a charter.

Haldon Forest Park turns into winter wonderland for charity dog walk

If you go down to the woods next Friday, be sure to take part in pet charity Blue Cross’s Bark in the Dark event to help raise money for sick and homeless pets.

The charity’s event is being held in Haldon Forest near Exeter, and is open to all the family and their four-legged friends.

Food lovers all over the county will welcome the news that Devon County Show is to increase its food offering to make it an even more mouth-watering experience for 2019.

The LOVE Devon Walk for Widecombe fundraising event has raised over £5,100 for the Widecombe Village Hall fund after its successful fundraising event in September.
