Dozens of young runners will soon be charging down the famous home straight at Exeter Racecourse when the much-loved Family Day returns on Sunday, 22 March.

The annual event gives children a rare opportunity to experience the thrill of race day for themselves, sprinting along the same stretch of turf as the racehorses. Teignbridge councillors, staff, dignitaries, service personnel (including cadets and veterans) and pupils from Chudleigh Primary School marked Armed Forces Day with a flag raising ceremony at the council’s Forde House headquarters. The Donkey Sanctuary’s golden anniversary was celebrated last week alongside its 50-year banking partnership with Barclays bank.

Representatives from Barclays visited the charity’s international headquarters in Sidmouth where they presented staff with an engraved Dartington Crystal glass vase. Chagford Library unveils locally inspired mural by nationally renowned artist

Chagford Library has officially unveiled its unique new mural, thanks to support from its local Friends Group and the talents of a local artist.

The mural, which is inspired by the local surroundings and local characters, was commissioned by the Friends Group and was hand painted by local artist Steve Dooley, who is well-known for his murals and illustrations of author Kenneth Grahame’s classic characters from Wind in the Willows.
