Exeter Racecourse is delighted to announce a new partnership with The Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) for ELF Raceday, taking place on Friday 5th December 2025.

Leader-elect to push for Exeter to declare a Climate Emergency

The Leader-elect of Exeter City Council has said he intends to push for Exeter to declare a Climate Emergency.

Cllr Phil Bialyk, who is set to become Exeter City Council’s new Leader tomorrow night (Tuesday 14 May) at the City’s Annual Council meeting, said he will raise the matter at the next available meeting.

It comes as Chief Executives and Directors from nearly 20 public and private sector organisations across Devon came together to pledge their commitment to tackle climate change. The organisations are all part of a new Devon Climate Emergency Response Group.

Council to start improvement works to Maer Road Car Park in Exmouth

East Devon District Council is to commence improvement works, including resurfacing and construction of a new entrance, at Maer Road car park in Exmouth. Work will begin on Monday 13 May 2019 and is expected to last approximately six weeks.

The car park will remain open while work takes place, with only a small area initially closed for the construction of the new entrance and for the contractor’s compound. During the resurfacing part of the works, a larger area of the car park will be closed. However, parking will be available throughout the project.

Work to lay pipe for Phase 3 of Feniton flood alleviation scheme on track for October 2019

East Devon District Council is implementing a scheme to reduce the risk of flooding to over 70 homes in the village of Feniton, which involves a system of channels and culverts to divert flood water around the village and away from the homes at risk. Resurfacing due to start on Lea Road in Tiverton

Essential resurfacing will start on Lea Road in Tiverton on Monday (13 May) and is expected to take around two weeks to complete.

The road will be temporarily closed during the daytime, from 9am to 3:30pm, in order to carry out the work, but the road will re-open each evening and at the weekend.

No work will be carried out on site on Thursday 16 May, Thursday 23 May and Monday 27 May, and the road will be open to traffic on these days.
