Exeter ranked move-friendly city

Exeter has been named one of the UK’s least stressful cities to move to, thanks to strong infrastructure, good housing availability, and ease of access to short-term services.

In a new national study released by Pay Less for Storage, Exeter scored 74 out of 100 in the “move-friendliness” index, ranking joint 10th alongside Inverness, Lancaster and Ripon. The research measured practical relocation challenges like van hire access, local self-storage options, chain-free housing stock, and the availability of short-term rentals.

Devon and Cornwall Police has today pledged its ongoing commitment to tackling Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) after the publication of a national policing statement published by the College of Policing and the National Police Chief’s Council (NPPC).

The statement published figures that show that over one million VAWG related crimes were recorded during 2022/23 – 20 per cent of all police recorded crime. The statement also published figures which show online and tech related VAWG has increased by 37 per cent from 2018/19 to 2022/23.

Staff at Exeter College put themselves in the shoes of blind and partially sighted learners and visitors to the campus as part of two sight loss awareness sessions held during annual staff training week.

RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) visited the college on Monday, July 8 and Wednesday, July 10 to deliver the one-hour sessions.
