Devon County Show launches first‑ever Community Growing Hub

The Devon County Show is proud to announce the launch of its first‑ever Community Growing Hub, a major new feature for 2026 designed to inspire visitors of all ages to get growing, get gardening, and get connected. The Hub will be hosted by horticulturalist and community growing advocate Kenny Raybould, who will lead a team of volunteers offering hands‑on advice, and practical support throughout the three‑day show.

Students studying Medicine, Nursing and Medical Imaging at the University of Exeter have supported the NHS in a wide range of roles throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

In Exeter and Truro, many Medical Students volunteered to help run the Novavax vaccine trial at the Royal Cornwall Hospital and Royal Devon & Exeter sites. The vaccine is now pending UK approval after showing 89 per cent efficacy in the UK-wide trial.

Cashless society: Exeter is one of the UK cities to lose a high number of high-street ATMs during COVID-19

A new report by UK merchant payment provider, Dojo, part of the Paymentsense brand, has revealed the extent to which Britain’s high streets are losing their ATM’s and which UK cities are the most affected.

During the pandemic, Exeter has lost 15 ATM's in the city, meaning there are now only 115 available to the residents, a decline of 11.54%.

The report found that between January 2019 and September 2020 the number of cash machines in Britain dropped from 62,967 to 55,674, a decrease of 7,293, with an average of over 340 machines disappearing from high streets every month...
