Cranbrook to Host First eat:Festival Food and Drink Event

eat:Festivals will be hosting a food and drink festival in Cranbrook on Sunday 13 September 2026.

The festival will be happening in the heart of the town, on and surrounding the Tillhouse Road. eat:Festivals are a small social enterprise who have been delivering one day food and drink festivals in towns across the south-west for over 13 years. Recycle & Raise returns

Tubs of sweets adorn the shelves at this time of year, ready for shoppers to stock up on their favourite festive treats. Now, a leading waste management company, DCW, is asking us to donate the empty plastic tubs - once the treats are gone - to raise vital funds for charity.

Unprovoked attack in Exeter leaves man with broken jaw

Police investigating an assault in which two men in their 20s were punched in the face in Exeter are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

One of the victims suffered a broken jaw in the unprovoked attack which happened at the Guildhall Shopping Centre between midnight and 12.30am on Sunday 19 December.

A church in Exeter has distributed over 1300 hampers packed full of food to people in need across the community.

Rediscover Church in Northernhay Street, Exeter, has run the hamper project every year for the last 7 years, but this is the most it has ever put together to rise to the need across Exeter but also wider Devon, with some going even to Kingsbridge, Axminster and South Molton.

Sapphire the buddy dog – or wonder dog as her family calls her – came into the Ring family’s life in 2020, after the first lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. Buddy dogs are provided by sight loss charity Guide Dogs for children with a visual impairment.

Roadworks will be lifted on motorways and major A-roads from Tuesday 21 December to help keep traffic flowing
