Team FORCE smash it at the 2026 Great West Run

Team FORCE has again pulled out all the stops at this year’s Great West Run.

Nearly 450 people ran either the half marathon or 10K around the streets of Exeter and beyond in Sunday’s sweltering heat to support FORCE Cancer Charity.

Between them they have raised more than £135,000 so far, which will support local people dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

Stitching Stories: The Red Dress Comes to Killerton this Christmas

A record-breaking embroidered dress, stitched by 380 people from 51 countries, will be the centrepiece of Killerton’s winter celebrations this year, as the National Trust property honours the spirit of community and creativity.

From 29 November, Killerton will host the internationally recognised Red Dress Project, a powerful artwork created by Somerset artist Kirstie Macleod.

An innovation designed in Exeter to detect contaminated water and save lives has picked up vital seed money to help propel it to the next level.

FluoroGlow’s device is designed to detect Cryptosporidium in water – a parasite that can cause severe illness and even death, especially in children and vulnerable people.

A 16-year-old from Exeter has been selected as a UK Youth Ambassador for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE), after finding confidence, new friendships and a love of hiking.

Josh Berry joins a cohort of just 31 DofE Award holders aged 16-24 from all over the UK, who will advocate for young people by sharing their experiences on key issues impacting them.
