Second stage announced for TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham

An exclusive second stage is being added to Devon’s biggest music event this summer – with a host of extra artists joining the line-up.

TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham takes place across the weekend Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28 with headline shows from Teddy Swims , Alanis Morissette and Lewis Capaldi.

And now additional artists will take to the festival’s all-new Castle Green Stage , performing from 2.30pm each day as gates open as well as after each headline artist.

Police carry out operation to protect women at night

A localised week of action has taken place in Exeter City Centre as part of Devon and Cornwall Police’s commitment to tackle violence against women and girls.

In a drive to safeguard young people, both plainclothes and uniformed officers have been out in the City’s nightspots this week. Over three nights, officers have carried out seven arrests and made numerous vehicle stops.

The activity is part of a national scheme, called Operation Vigilant, which is a strategy used in a bid to reduce sexual violence and predatory behaviour.

New 25 acre green space secured for East Devon residents

A new area of open green space for local people to enjoy next year has been acquired by East Devon District Council.

This first new public space marks an important landmark in creating the Clyst Valley Regional Park, which stretches from National Trust Killerton to Clyst St Mary near the Exe Estuary. The new space is expected to open to the public in 2023, providing a wider choice for residents and visitors as an alternative to protected sites such as the East Devon Pebblebed Heaths and the Exe Estuary.

SWR announces 1st October strike service levels

South Western Railway (SWR) is urging customers only to travel by rail if absolutely necessary on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 October due to the planned RMT and TSSA industrial action.

Customers should expect severe disruption on the network and, if they must travel on either of those days, should seek to do so by other means.

SWR has published its strike day service levels for Saturday 1 October, which will provide a severely reduced service on the routes Network Rail has made available.
