Second stage announced for TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham

An exclusive second stage is being added to Devon’s biggest music event this summer – with a host of extra artists joining the line-up.

TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham takes place across the weekend Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28 with headline shows from Teddy Swims , Alanis Morissette and Lewis Capaldi.

And now additional artists will take to the festival’s all-new Castle Green Stage , performing from 2.30pm each day as gates open as well as after each headline artist.

Local Councillor Opens The Doors To New Show Home In Somerton

Housebuilder Allison Homes South West has launched its new show home in Buttercross Meadow, Somerton. South Somerset District Councillor, Dean Ruddle visited the development last Friday afternoon (23 September) to officially open the show home and celebrate the development of much needed homes in the area.

New digital resident's parking permit scheme gets go-ahead

Devon County Council's Cabinet has approved the introduction of a digitalised residents’ parking permits system which will make it easier for users to manage their permit and aims to encourage the uptake of EV and lower emission vehicles.

The new system, which was approved at Cabinet on Monday, September 26, followed a recent consultation which drew 769 responses.

The intention is to phase the new system in from the New Year – current permit holders will be invited to renew using the new system only once their current permit expires.

TEENAGER Thomas Bond is embarking on a unique challenge - to help save our oceans.

The 13-year-old, is swimming in the sea, every month, for a year… in fancy dress.

The Terrace hosts an event for our four-legged friends

A popular restaurant and bar in Exeter is looking to attract a new breed of customer – the four-legged variety, to be precise.

The Terrace, located in The Guildhall, will be taken over by the Pup-Up Café who specialise in events for man’s (and woman’s) best friend. Each session is split by breed so owners and their dogs of all ages can meet each other.

Sustainable farming robots, feminist videogames and an AI-powered property transparency platform are among the technologies being developed by the finalists for the Tech South West Awards 2022.

Now in their fourth year, the awards celebrate the best in tech from across the South West including Bristol, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire.

Warning to public to be vigilant following phone scam

Police are warning residents in Devon to be vigilant following a phone scam in which the caller is pretending to be a police officer.

Officers are currently investigating reports of a scam, one of which led to a woman in her 70s drawing out a substantial amount of money, but thankfully did not hand this over and instead contacted the police.

Another report has been received whereby an elderly man handed over £10,000.

Detectives say they have had an increased number of calls about this scam over the past week - particularly in the South Devon and Tiverton areas...
