Second stage announced for TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham

An exclusive second stage is being added to Devon’s biggest music event this summer – with a host of extra artists joining the line-up.

TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham takes place across the weekend Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28 with headline shows from Teddy Swims , Alanis Morissette and Lewis Capaldi.

And now additional artists will take to the festival’s all-new Castle Green Stage , performing from 2.30pm each day as gates open as well as after each headline artist.

On a warm sunny Saturday evening on the 27th August, 48 intrepid swimmers bared all in aid of the mental health charity MIND Devon.

After nervously assembling on the poolside, at the allotted hour of 7.30pm the gathered group all dropped their towels and jumped naked and costume-free into the beautifully warm water of the Topsham Lido.

RSPCA’s new partnership to help pets amid rehoming crisis

RSPCA has announced a partnership with pet food supplier McAdams which will see rescue animals provided with higher welfare, ethically-sourced pet food as they await their forever home.

New RSPCA research has highlighted that rehoming domestic pets has slowed by nearly 10% year on year - rehoming an average of 753 animals per week in 2019, 565 per week in 2020 but only 518 per week in 2021 - meaning that spaces aren’t being freed up as quickly and animals are staying in their care for longer.

Devon & Cornwall Police is reminding its communities and visitors that the Force continues to take a zero tolerance approach to hate crime at the start of National Hate Crime Awareness Week.

A Ukrainian refugee has found permanent employment in Exeter, thanks to a unique support scheme offered by Exeter Works.

Exeter Northcott hits target of gifting 500 Christmas theatre tickets and extends goal to 750

Exeter Northcott Theatre has launched a new stretch goal of gifting 750 tickets for its family Christmas show Robin Hood to children and young people in Devon through its Pay It Forward donation campaign by the end of this year, having reached its initial aim of giving away 500 tickets.

The Northcott’s Pay It Forward campaign, now in its third year, asks audience members to donate towards the cost of a theatre ticket for children and young people who would not otherwise be able to go.
