Second stage announced for TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham

An exclusive second stage is being added to Devon’s biggest music event this summer – with a host of extra artists joining the line-up.

TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham takes place across the weekend Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28 with headline shows from Teddy Swims , Alanis Morissette and Lewis Capaldi.

And now additional artists will take to the festival’s all-new Castle Green Stage , performing from 2.30pm each day as gates open as well as after each headline artist.

Exeter Dunelm store helps local Beavers embark on a new gardening journey

The Exeter branch of Dunelm, the UK’s leading homeware retailer, has donated gardening supplies to a local Beavers group, helping them to earn their gardening badge.

The Beavers received the gardening equipment after winning a competition that was hosted by the Exeter store’s Community Facebook Group.

Ghosts, ghouls and things that go bump in the night took on a Halloween running challenge beside the River Exe.

Runners competing in the Halloween Five, organised by Exeter City Community Trust, took on the five mile challenge along the banks of the river and through Riverside Valley Park on Sunday – and they were rewarded with glow in the dark medals!

Chairman of Whimple and Broadclyst Young Farmers Club Ben Roberts has presented a cheque to representatives of their Charities of the Year following an amazing year of fundraising.

Members of the club enjoyed a fantastic 12 months of fundraising for their chosen charities Rainbow Living and Brain Tumour Research. Jerry Chew, Chair of Rainbow Living, accepted a cheque for £6,200 at the clubs meeting at Whimple Village Hall in October.

A Polish Second World War Night-Fighter Squadron will be remembered on 15th November at Exeter, the city where the Polish 307 Squadron was based between April 1941-April 1943 defending Great Britain from enemy bombers at night.

People working in frontline health and care jobs in Devon are being urged to have the Covid-19 autumn booster and flu vaccination to protect themselves and the people they care for.

Existing COVID-19 vaccinations do not protect against two highly transmissible new variants which are currently circulating. Councils to receive additional funds to help support households with rising food and energy costs

Devon County Council has received additional funding to help households weather the rising costs of living, to help pay for food, energy and other essential items .

This is the third tranche of the government's Household Support Fund that the County Council has received.

The latest bid amounts to a little over £5 million and should cover the winter period through to Easter 2023. It will take Devon’s total level of Household Support Funding received so far to just over £15 million.

The winners of a Walking Rugby Festival in Devon have been awarded their trophies from one of the tournament sponsors, McCarthy Stone, the developer behind the Pym Court Retirement Living Plus development in Topsham.

University of Exeter secures top 50 place in global sustainability rankings

The University of Exeter has been ranked 48th in the world in a new QS Sustainability Ranking 2023, recognising universities across the globe that are taking action to tackle the world’s greatest Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) challenges.
