Gandy Street is the place to be on the First Thursdays of the month this summer

First Thursdays is a new event you won’t want to miss.

From June to September, Gandy Street will come alive on the first Thursday of each month, with a festival atmosphere in the early evening.

The first event takes place on Thursday 4 June, 5–8pm. Expect late-night shopping, live music, street entertainment, extended opening hours at cultural venues and a cocktail trail. All your favourite businesses on Gandy Street and in the surrounding area will be open, including:

Communities are being called on to nominate their ‘wildlife heroes’ for an award this autumn which will celebrate the work of groups and individuals across Devon who gone above and beyond to tackle the ecological emergency.

Wild About Devon is a Devon Local Nature Partnership initiative focusing on supporting local communities to restore and improve habitats for nature across our diverse landscapes. Support is given through advice, signposting, networking platforms, and via the grant scheme.

A new Deaf hub providing bespoke social opportunities for adults will shortly launch in Exeter by Living Options Devon, helped by funding from the South West Water Neighbourhood Fund.

Skybus is celebrating more than 30 years of flying from Exeter Airport to the Isles of Scilly as the 2023 season takes off.

The Cornwall-based airline has been flying from Exeter Airport to Scilly since May 1991 and the first flight of 2023 took off from Exeter this week.
