Free NHS flu vaccination clinics available across Devon

It’s not too late to have your free NHS flu vaccination to protect yourself and your loved ones this winter.

Due to the current increase in the rates of flu and other respiratory infections, extra drop-in clinics are running for those eligible to get their free NHS flu vaccine and/or their seasonal COVID-19 booster vaccination.

South West community groups encouraged to apply for new Save Our Wild Isles Community Fund

Aviva, in partnership with WWF and the RSPB, are giving £1 million in funding to support local communities taking action for nature. Part of the Save Our Wild Isles campaign , the Save Our Wild Isles Community Fund is calling for applications from community groups in the UK to restore nature in their local areas.

Powderham Castle will celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III with a special weekend of events in aid of the British Red Cross.

A live screening of the Coronation will take place on the castle grounds on Saturday, May 6th, followed by a screening of the Coronation Concert and a community party on Sunday, May 7th.

There will also be local food, Pimms and cream teas, royal activities and entrance to Powderham Castle.

Persimmon Homes South West has secured a unanimous resolution to grant planning permission for a new sustainable community of 1435 high-quality homes in Cranbrook, East Devon.

Dog walking zones come into force from May

With the summer months approaching, restrictions for dog walking on East Devon’s beaches will soon be in force.

Each year, East Devon District Council (EDDC) limits areas where dogs can be exercised during the summer months, as it looks to ensure all beach goers can enjoy the area.
