It’s not too late to have your free NHS flu vaccination to protect yourself and your loved ones this winter.

Due to the current increase in the rates of flu and other respiratory infections, extra drop-in clinics are running for those eligible to get their free NHS flu vaccine and/or their seasonal COVID-19 booster vaccination.

An employer event focussed on new ways of recruiting and retaining staff has won praise for being “inspirational”.

Balloons, a local bereavement charity that supports children and young people have received a £10,000 donation from an unusual source.

The Crematorium and Memorial Group (CMG), operators of Exeter and Devon Crematorium and part of Dignity plc , was able to make the donation to Balloons due to the crematorium participating in a nationwide metal recycling scheme, administered by the Association of Private Crematoria & Cemeteries.

Pets at Home provides vital donations to Exeter Cats Protection

Pets at Home customers have raised more than £4,000 to allow Cats Protection’s Exeter Axhayes Adoption Centre to provide vital care for cats in the local area.

The adoption centre is part of the UK’s largest cat welfare charity which was founded in 1927. Since 2009, the Exeter Centre has rehomed more than 9,700 cats, with an average of 600 cats coming into their care every year.

If you’ve visited Exeter recently, you will almost certainly have noticed the increased numbers of rough sleepers in the city.

Exeter Airport gears up for start of busy summer season

Exeter Airport is gearing up for the start of a busy summer season during May, with flights to seven destinations taking off with the UK’s leading travel brand TUI.

Twice-weekly services to Corfu, Dalaman, Menorca, and Zante began this week (1-7 May), as well as flights to Crete and Rhodes, which operate once a week.

Labour retain control in Exeter

Labour is still the dominant force on Exeter City Council but experienced a mixed night in the local elections.

For the second year running, it gained a second seat in the former Tory stronghold of Topsham, but lost a seat in St Thomas to former Lib Dem council leader Adrian Fullam.
