NHS team take part in Exercise Military Endeavour

A team from Devon Partnership NHS Trust (DPT) recently took part in Exercise Military Endeavour (formerly SW NHS Military Challenge), which has returned after a three-year break.

Staged at Okehampton Army Camp on the high moors the challenge consisted of 10 activities developed by the Volunteer Reserve Force including ‘care under fire’, an obstacle course and a final race pushing those involved to their limits and beyond.

Police officers from the local Neighbourhood Team, along with police staff, will be lending their support to Exeter City FC’s ‘Party at The Park’ this weekend.

Nursing and medicine students from the University of Exeter were putting their skills into action at this year’s Glastonbury Festival while volunteering as first responders.

A resident from a local care home has been named as one of the winners in a recent nationwide creative writing competition organised by Barchester Care Homes.

Residents were asked to put on their creative hats and write a short story or a poem about a favourite pet as part of a reminiscence session. Viv wrote her original story, based on memories and memorable experiences that she shared with her dog, called Baron, and it certainly sounds as if they had the most remarkable relationship.
