Ranger adventures at Knightshayes

Police appeal after man attacked in nightclub

Police in Exeter are appealing for the public’s help in identifying a man they want to speak to in connection with a serious assault at a nightclub in the city.

Officers are keen to trace the man pictured, wearing a maroon tTshirt, as he may be able to assist with their enquiries about the assault that happened at Club Rococo at around 2.10am on Saturday 21June.

An 18-year-old man was assaulted inside the club after a man became aggressive.

The victim suffered serious injuries after the man picked up a bottle and hit him over the head with it.

Neil Parish, MP for Tiverton and Honiton, is holding the East Devon Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair on Friday (27 June) at the Honiton Community College in association with the National Apprenticeship Service and Jobs Centre Plus.

The Jobs fair will help school leavers and job seekers find work and get careers advice to give young people the experience and skills they need to enter the workplace.

The Exeter Daily has been shortlisted for a prestigious award for the second year in succession.

We are among five websites in the running for the title of Website of the Year in the EDF Energy South West Media Awards.

Lapford gardens open for Air Ambulances

Lapford & District Horticultural Society open their gardens on the 28th and 29th of June in aid of Devon Air Ambulance Trust. Twelve unique parish gardens can be viewed including the school and allotments. Nine gardens are located in the village, with three about a mile away.

SWH finish work at Axe Valley Community College ahead of schedule

SWH recently completed building works at Axe Valley Community College seven weeks ahead of schedule.

The works, carried out for Devon County Council, comprised of two main classrooms, a third smaller class room and a lobby entrance.

Our works also included the demolition of the existing rooms (including some asbestos removal) and construction of the building.

The construction was originally masonry, which SWH changed to closed panel timber frame solution for speed, and to reduce the amount of site traffic required to travel through the school.

The bathing water at Budleigh Salterton beach is at risk of failing tough new standards for water quality, the Environment Agency has warned.

The Environment Agency, East Devon District Council, local business leaders and interest groups are meeting later today (June 23) to discuss how to meet the challenge of improving water quality at Budleigh Salterton.

From 2015 much more stringent water quality targets come into force under the revised Bathing Water Directive. The Environment Agency is concentrating on tackling sources of pollution before the targets come into force...
