Live music fans are set for another celebration of amazing entertainment in the Devon countryside as TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham confirms its return for 2026.

Following its debut outing at the historic country estate this July, which saw headline performances from Duran Duran and Basement Jaxx, Live Nation’s Cuffe and Taylor are now planning for a bigger and better event next summer with plans to unveil the first 2026 headliner in the coming weeks.

Big Lottery grant secures future of YMCA Exeter Job Clubs

YMCA Exeter have been awarded a grant worth £304,781 from The National Lottery Big Lottery Fund, securing the future of their Community Job Clubs for the next three years.

The charity runs Job Clubs across the city, delivering specialist support to anyone affected by factors which make obtaining work seem hopeless, such as homelessness, criminal history, disabilities, or living in deprived areas. A donkey-mad grandmother has knitted her 100th toy donkey in aid of The Donkey Sanctuary. Dorothy Harrison, from Beacon Heath, Exeter, started knitting the toys after picking up a knitting pattern on a visit to The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth in 2011 and enjoyed knitting the donkeys so much she set herself the challenge of knitting 100. Young cyclists wanted for bone health study

University of Exeter researchers are looking for young male cyclists to take part in a study investigating how our body composition is affected by the sports we practice.

The team is seeking boys aged 12-14 who have cycled for three hours or more per week for the past three years, and who expect to continue over the next three years.

Participants will benefit from the study by learning about how the sport they take part in affects their body’s composition – especially their bones.

£1.6m for Exeter Medical School

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, this week visited Exeter’s centre of excellence in healthcare innovation, where he announced a new £150 million investment into technologies to revolutionise research into disease.

Over 120 delegates attended the RWC Business Conference on Monday 29th September which was held at Sandy Park Conference Centre.

At the conference, delegates were split into 7 groups to discuss any risks, opportunities, actions and the knowledge needed to produce the best business legacy for the Rugby World Cup in 2015.

Santander donation boosts education for deaf children

Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education has received £2,220 to fund new equipment for its Sensory Pod to support students’ physical and emotional development needs.

The donation was provided by the Santander Foundation, which offers grants to UK registered charities for projects that help disadvantaged people in local communities.

A new collection by an infamous art forger will be on display at an Exeter art gallery for two weeks only. Castle Galleries, Exeter will be exhibiting the works of painter John Myatt from Saturday 25th October until Sunday 9th November. Garden shed stolen but contents left

Police in Newton Abbot are appealing for information following the "unusual" theft of a complete garden shed.

The incident happened sometime between Friday 17 October and Tuesday 22 October, at an unoccupied house in Oliver Place, Heathfield, Newton Abbot. The shed was removed from the rear garden. The contents were left behind.
