Exeter City kick off collection for Foodbank

Exeter City will be hosting a supporters’ collection for Exeter Foodbank at two forthcoming home fixtures in March – and the club’s first-team squad made the first contributions to kick-start the campaign.

Following the success of Winter Stories and Snow Crafts at Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park with Devon Libraries, the second event in the partnership has been announced. Spring Stories and Mother’s Day Crafts will take place at Devon’s Crealy on Wednesday 11th March 2015.

Appeal for witnesses to Haldon Hill collision

Police are appealing for witnesses to a seven-vehicle collision on the A38 at Haldon Hill, Exeter, in which an elderly man suffered serious injuries.

The collision happened on the descent of the hill on the Exeter-bound carriageway on Friday 20 February, shortly after 5.50pm.

A black BMW 318i was involved in the collision with a blue Ford Ka, blue Fiat Punto, white Ford Fiesta van, white Audi A3, green VW Golf and black Peugeot 3008.

As part of the follow up to the national inquiry into Jimmy Savile, Devon County Council was asked by the Government to investigate a specific allegation relating to a former council-run children’s home, Colleton Lodge, Exeter, in the early 1980s.

A new group which offers support and education for people who have ongoing health challenges is starting in Exeter in March.

The group is facilitated by an accredited Chrysalis Effect Practitioner/RGN who assists people with chronic health conditions, and specialises in supporting people in recovery from CFS/ME.

Detectives from Titan, the North-west regional organised crime unit, are appealing for the public’s help in tracing a Manchester man who they want to speak to as part of an investigation into a drugs conspiracy.

Glenn Phillip Madden (pictured) has links to the Salford, Stretford, Swinton and Urmston areas of Greater Manchester as well as West Yorkshire and Devon and Cornwall.

Officers want to speak to the 36-year-old as they believe he may have information that could help their investigation.
