Exeter has proudly scooped a Gold Award at the South West in Bloom Awards, held in Torquay this week. This prestigious recognition follows months of dedicated preparation and showcases the exceptional planting and greening delivered across the city by InExeter BID, Exeter City Council, and the University of Exeter.

This year marked a significant milestone, as Exeter entered the competition as a unified city-wide application for the first time in several years.

Family raises £10,000 for Samaritans to remember Danielle

A dozen members of an extended westcountry family have handed over a huge fundraising cheque to Samaritans.

The £10,000 donation - one of the largest ever made to the Exeter, Mid and East Devon branch of the charity - was raised to remember Danielle Cornish who died last summer after losing a battle with her mental health.

The handover took place outside the charity’s branch in central Exeter and involved Danielle’s parents Debbie and Steve, their daughter Tayde, and other family members from Ideford, Kingsteignton and Saltash.

Exeter’s historic buildings join forces to offer new school trips

Some of Exeter’s most historic buildings are teaming up to offer schoolchildren educational tours.

Exeter Cathedral has joined forces with Exeter’s historic Guildhall, St Nicholas Priory, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery, and Exeter Custom House to offer new learning opportunities at the famous buildings.
