A moggy mystery has unfolded at Hospiscare’s Exeter hospice – a stray ginger cat, who staff have nicked named Boris, regularly pops into to see nurses and patients.

Boris jumps in through open windows or ambles through open patio doors and is a regular sight in the offices and ward.

He enjoys cuddles from cat loving Hospiscare nurses and patients and sometimes snuggles up on staff chairs in the ward office but there are concerns that he might get locked in the numerous different rooms at the Dryden Road building. Also, Boris has recently lost weight.

Brake, the road safety charity, and Direct Line insurance are urging drivers to hang back, slow down and chill out on country roads to avoid tragedies, as a survey reveals the extent of risky, aggressive overtaking.

An alarming one in seven drivers (14%) report that in the past year they have been forced by another driver’s overtaking to swerve, pull over or brake to avoid a collision.

Exeter resident Josh Ellis has been awarded the title of the South West’s 2015 VQ Learner of the Year, in recognition of his outstanding achievement following a vocational qualification in Plumbing at Exeter College.
