EXETER'S high street is set for boost with the arrival of a new retailer.

CBD and vaping specialists Evapo is opening a new store in the City's Fore Street on Friday (28 July).

The company is committed to help people quit tobacco smoking with all its staff qualified NHS stop smoking advisors.

Evapo is also leading the way when it comes to ending underage vaping with owner Andrej Kuttuf having recently lobbied parliament in a bid to see the industry tighter controlled.

After the huge success of last year’s Summer at the Quayside, Exeter’s historic quayside area will again be home to a jam-packed programme of fun and quirky activities for all the family. Traffic cameras could be installed on Wonford Road

Cameras could be installed along a road in Exeter where some drivers are still ignoring ‘no entry’ signs.

A filter was installed on Wonford Road in 2021, permitting access only for buses and bicycles to help improve conditions for them, but councillors were told this week that many other vehicles are still driving through.

Speaking at an Exeter highways and traffic orders meeting on Monday [24 July], highways officer James Bench said the authority is “aware of ongoing complaints regarding contraventions at this location.”

Homelessness charities providing vital services within Devon have today issued a plea to Devon County Council to reject proposed cuts to homelessness funding ahead of a special meeting of the Health and Adult Care Scrutiny Committee.

Devon County Council is proposing to cut £1.5m from its Adult Homelessness Prevention funding as part of what its Finance Director labelled a “re-prioritisation”. Affordable homes one step closer as ground broken at West Clyst

Councillors from East Devon District Council (EDDC) and Broadclyst Parish Council joined housing association Sovereign to celebrate work starting on 69 new affordable and highly sustainable homes on the edge of Exeter.

Ground was broken by Cllr Olly Davey, Portfolio Holder for Strategic Planning at EDDC, alongside the Chair of Broadclyst Parish Council, Henry Massey.

The homes at Moonhill Rise will be the first built to the highest rating in Sovereign’s Homes and Place Standard for sustainable homes, which was created alongside Sovereign customers.

Thanks to the generosity of the people in Devon the Exeter Kindness Mural will now go ahead. This means the Crossline building in the city centre will be upgraded to include an inspirational Charlie Mackesy illustration on its gable wall. The mural aims to spread a message of generosity to passers-by.

A Crowdfunding campaign held from March through May raised £5,381 (+ £800 in GiftAid) with 133 supporters in 69 days. This will cover the cost of essential repairs to the wall and all surplus funds will go to charity. Recipients will include the Crossline Soup Kitchen in the basement...
