Libraries bring creativity to life

Devon and Torbay libraries are set to burst with colour, sound, and imagination this autumn as Libraries Unlimited unveils its exciting new programme, running from 1st August to 31st October, under the vibrant theme ‘Get Creating’.

Far from the quiet spaces of the past, libraries will host everything from craft workshops and discos to live theatre and concerts. Visitors can learn to make musical instruments, explore bugs, build fantasy houses, or create watercolours, mosaics and screen-prints—all within their local library.

Exeter and Sandy Park chosen as host city and venue for Women’s Rugby World Cup

Exeter and Sandy Park have been chosen as a host city and venue for the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.

Exeter and Sandy Park are one of only eight cities and stadiums that will be playing host to the biggest ever celebration of women’s rugby, the City Council has revealed.

The host cities and venues were announced today (Tuesday 22 August) by World Rugby and the RFU, with support from the UK Government. The announcement comes with just two years to go until the Rugby World Cup 2025 kicks off.

Care home Cumberland Grange in Exeter will be opening it’s doors to a number of people from the community to help tackle loneliness in their local community.

Open for elderly people who might usually eat alone, they are invited to join the residents and teams at the home on Wednesdays for a 3 course meal. Interested people should simply call and book ahead.

Diners will be treated to a tasty lunch in the home’s dining room. Guests will have a chance to chat to the home’s staff and residents,while enjoying their food, and will be able to partake in any activities taking...

Exeter Science Centre – the small charity with big ambitions – is back at Maketank from September 6-10th with this year’s interactive exhibition! Landowners and communities in Devon are being reminded they have just over five weeks left to apply for this year’s free tree scheme .

Devon County Council is offering up to 50 free tree packs, each containing 45 native broadleaved trees and other items to support their planting and establishment.

An art project exploring the heart is coming to Alphington

Local homebuilder Barratt Homes Exeter has launched a series of public art workshops taking place from Monday 21st to Friday 25th August at the thriving new Victoria Heights development in Alphington, Devon.
