Honorary degree for former Exeter MP

Former city MP Ben Bradshaw thanked University of Exeter students for “all they have given the city” as he joined their graduation ceremony to be given his own honorary degree.

Innovate UK announce Government funding to support innovation and growth in the region’s marine and maritime sectors

The Great South West , which covers Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Devon, Dorset, and Somerset, has been chosen as the country’s Marine and Maritime Launchpad, recognising its leadership in the sector.

Look out for fly-tippers warning after bins used to dump building waste

People in Exeter are being urged to keep an eye out for instances of fly-tipping after three litter bins in the city were used to dump builder’s waste in, including what looks like used asbestos material.

The City Council said three litter bins in Burnthouse Lane had been sealed off, whilst a specialist asbestos removal company took the contents away.

The disposal costs are likely to be around £450.
