Exeter Science Park’s Chief Executive, Dr Sally Basker, has announced her decision to retire from full-time work in June 2026.

This will promote a smooth transition and stability following the recent appointment of Dr Eulian Roberts as the new Chair of Exeter Science Park .

Dr Basker, who has led the organisation since 2017, leaves behind a powerful legacy. Share your memories of Royal Clarence Hotel

People are being invited to share their memories of the Royal Clarence Hotel by writing in a book of remembrance at Exeter Guildhall.

The Hotel was badly damaged by fire at the end of last month and many people have fond memories of either staying there, visiting the hotel for a meal or functions, or just enjoying it from the Cathedral Green.

MP lends his support to Citizens Advice Exeter Energy Campaign

CITY MP Ben Bradshaw lent his weight to a series of energy advice sessions organised by Citizens Advice Exeter.

As part of their national Big Energy Saving Week, teams from the charity have been spreading the word about switching – helping some Exeter residents save more than £300 on their bills.

Temporary lights overnight on Bridge Road

Temporary traffic lights will be introduced overnight on Bridge Road in Exeter from 11pm this evening (Wednesday 9 November) until 5am tomorrow morning (Thursday 10 November).

The temporary signals are needed to allow the contractor working space to undertake coring work for foundations of new lighting columns on the downstream side of Countess Wear Bridge. The road will temporarily be reduced to one lane while the traffic lights are in place, and therefore anyone travelling on Bridge Road at that time should expect minor delays.

Livestock farmer guilty of animal cruelty

A Mid Devon farmer has pleaded guilty to failing to dispose of animal remains, failing to provide a suitable environment for his livestock and causing unnecessary suffering to a ewe.

The case was heard at Exeter Crown Court (4th November) following an investigation by Devon & Somerset Trading Standards Service (DSTSS).

Kenneth John Tucker, 67, of Curtis Gardens, Crediton, pleaded guilty to charges relating to his treatment of sheep, cattle, pigs and dogs under his care.

Co-cars 'hire by the hour' Car Club launches in Cranbrook

Co-cars, the South West's fast-growing hire by the hour car club, officially launched its first car in Cranbrook today, Friday 4th November 2016 outside the Youunghayes Centre.

Co-cars offers its cars for hire to members, by the hour, with pick-up and return to the specially reserved bays. Members can book 24/7 online or via a smartphone and use a smartcard and PIN to open the car.

A special service of thanksgiving will be held this Saturday in Exeter Cathedral, two weeks on from the devastating fire which ripped through historic properties on the Cathedral green and destroyed the historic Royal Clarence hotel.
