Young South West Photographers Competition - now open

A fantastic opportunity for young photographers hailing from the South West.

Submissions are accepted from 14-21 year olds living in the region - up til 31 December. Local craft gallery Devon Guild have asked for photographic images which capture the essence and process of  'creation' -  a maker, artist, or element of nature includinjg the mess, the mistakes, or progression to perfection. An programed exhibition made up of chosen photographs based on this theme will run from 3 May - 30 June 2019 in the Devon Guild's main gallery!

During the exhibition in 2019, the public will also be asked to vote for their top three pieces on display. The ultimate `prizes include a following solo exhibition space in the Devon Guild, a two-hour masterclass in portrait or travel photography with photojournalist Suzy Bennett, plus more to be announced in the months ahead, so do keep in touch. The general Terms and Conditions for submissions of photos are:

You must be aged between 14-21 on 3 May 2019.
All entrants must be resident in the South West region as designated by Arts Council England: Somerset, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.
The work must be solely your own and not taken by another person or from a website.
We will judge the images in early 2019. Our judging panel will consist of the three young organisers and Flora Pearson (Devon Guild Exhibitions Officer), Suzy Bennett (Travel Journalist and Photographer) and Simon Williams (Photographer and Devon Guild Marketing Manager). 30 people will be selected from all the entries for exhibiting.
