World famous explorers to head to Gone Wild as Bear Grylls announces day tickets on sale

This August, a group of world famous adventurers and explorers will make their way to Devon creating a once in a lifetime opportunity for kids and adults to see their heroes and hear all of their exciting tales in one place. Bear Grylls, known for his wild adventures, will be joined by expedition legends including Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Ed Stafford and Laura Bingham at Nature Valley Gone Wild Festival, and for the first time the festival is now offering day tickets.

Those living across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset will be delighted to hear that after many requests Nature Valley Gone Wild Festival is launching day entry tickets for the first time. This makes it even easier for locals to step out of the everyday and spend a day rewilding, trying out new activities and throwing themselves into festival life. If you’re all about the music then you can purchase an evening only music ticket, and watch the headline music acts such as The Darkness and The Script, and then head home to your own bed.

Co founder Bear Grylls said…"We've had an overwhelming amount of requests through the Gone Wild social media channels from people who want day tickets as they can't commit to a whole weekend, they aren't keen campers, or they just really want to see The Darkness, The Script, Sir Ranulph Fiennes or any of the other stars we have on the line up. Putting on a festival is a huge logistical challenge so i'm delighted that we've found a way to meet this demand and offer day tickets for the first time. We're breaking down the barriers so that even more people can take part in this adventure, rewild themselves, and spend a day escaping from everyday life"

Whether coming for the day or whole weekend, wannabe adventurers young and old will be inspired by talks and workshops from remarkable humans who have completed superhuman feats of endurance, skill and survival in some of the most challenging conditions and untouched places on earth. Joining Bear Grylls will be…

Sir Ranulph Fiennes OBE - “The World’s Greatest Living Explorer” according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Ranulph Fiennes is the only man alive ever to have travelled around the Earth’s circumpolar surface (more people have been to the moon!)

Ed Stafford - The first human ever to walk the length of the Amazon River, Ed Stafford holds a Guinness World Record and hosts on the Discovery Channel. He has taken part in multiple challenges, documented on TV and in his own books, in which he was marooned and left to survive on an uninhabited tropical island for months at a time.

Laura Bingham - An adventurer who led the world’s first descent of the Essequibo River in Guyana, South America. Laura also travelled all the way across South America by bike, cycling 7000 km over 164 days taking only the equipment she could carry.

John Hudson - John Hudson is the UK military’s chief survival instructor, whose specialist work takes him to some of the most remote and extreme environments around the globe. A former RAF helicopter pilot, John is the Chief survival, evasion, resistance and escape officer.

Amanda Owens - Amanda is a shepherdess, farmer’s wife, mother to nine children, a passionate photographer and Sunday Times bestselling author. In 2018, the Owens became the stars of their very own Channel 5 TV programme ‘Our Yorkshire Farm’, becoming the channel’s highest rating factual show of the year, attracting an average of 2.2 million viewers per week…and more.

Over 8000 people are expected to attend the festival, giving them the opportunity to try out new activities across the weekend, with plenty for everyone to do on a walk up and go basis. The event partners Nature Valley and Töastie Kids will be creating experiences of their own to give attendees a chance to rewild themselves and get outdoors, and charitable partners the Royal Marines Charity will also be present, offering a taste of Marine fitness.
