February is expected to begin as January ended... wet and windy! As if we hadn't seen enough of the rain, forecasters say there is more to come for at least the next five days. The Met Office forecast up to Wednesday is as follows: Today: Showers or longer spells of rain, occasionally wintry at first, will spread eastwards to all parts during the morning, lasting through the afternoon. Widespread gales, severe near the coasts, will combine with high tides, bringing a risk of coastal flooding. Maximum Temperature 8 °C. Tonight: Remaining wet and windy at first however the winds will ease slightly through the night and clear spells in between the showers may allow for some patchy frost or ice. Minimum Temperature 2 °C. Sunday: A mixture of sunny spells and some showers, these may be heavy at times, and perhaps thundery with some hail possible. Still windy, though a little less so than Saturday. Maximum Temperature 10 °C. Outlook for Monday to Wednesday: Rain, heavy at times, and strong winds spreading east on Monday. Showers and sunny spells following for Tuesday, before another spell of very wet and windy weather arrives by Wednesday.
