Looking for things for the kids to do this summer holiday? At A la Ronde, near Exmouth, there is a family activity on offer every day.

They can join in the Coastal Quiz Trail from Saturday 18 July until Sunday 6 September. All they need to do is follow the map to find the answer to all the questions and win a prize. The coastal theme of the quiz ties in with the 50th anniversary celebrations of project Neptune, which has helped the National Trust protect over 775 miles of coastline.

Every Tuesday during the school holiday kids can also get creative with crafts and activities based on different themes. The young people will get the opportunity to make tambourines, papier-mâché shells, lavender bags and much more. On 21 July they can plant something to take home and tick off some of the ‘50 things to do before you’re 11¾’, on 28 July there will be activities with a musical theme and on 4 August they can participate in coastal crafts.

Then, on 11 August, there will be crafts inspired by the hay meadow and on the last two Tuesdays, 18 and 25 August, the crafts will be inspired by A la Ronde itself as well as the coast. All the activities cost £1.50 per child and run from 11am until 4pm.

A la Ronde also has some free Super Saturday events, starting on Saturday 25 August with Archaeology in action where you can find out about identifying and dating ‘finds’. Local lace experts will be in on Saturday 1 August to demonstrate the art of lace making with people able to have a try. Last but not least, Saturday 15 August sees the return of the popular ‘Sheep’s fleece’ event with demonstrations of crafting using locally sourced wool and an opportunity to join in and give it a try.

All the events on Saturday run from 11am until 4pm and are free to come and enjoy.
