
Stellar lineup for 2026 Exeter Climate Forum
Leading figures from business, policy and academia will gather for the 2026 Exeter Climate Forum.
Now in its second year, the annual event at the University of Exeter includes the latest science and aims to inspire bold action to tackle the climate emergency.
The Forum will take place from Monday 29 June to Friday 3 July, with a programme designed to connect people through ideas, discussion, and social events.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Rain Newton-Smith, Chief Executive, Confederation of British Industry.
- Professor Sir Ian Chapman, Chief Executive, UK Research and Innovation.
- Professor Emily Shuckburgh CBE, Chief Scientific Advisor at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, Director of Cambridge Zero.
- Nigel Topping CMG, Chair, Climate Change Committee.
- H.E. Varuzhan Nersesyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the UK.
- Professor Sallie Bailey, Chief Scientist, Natural England.
- Professor Carlos Nobre FRS, Brazilian Earth Scientist and Co-Chair of the Science Panel for the Amazon.
Professor Lisa Roberts, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Exeter, said: “The city of Exeter is a global hub of climate knowledge and expertise, and we are delighted to host the second Exeter Climate Forum ahead of the crucial COP31 climate summit later this year.
“The Forum brings together world-leading researchers, policymakers, business leaders and young people – building connections and partnerships that can make a real difference to the environment, people and societies around the world.”

The week starts with the Climate Conference, from Monday 29 June to Wednesday 1 July, followed by a focused collaboration day on Thursday 2 July, when invited groups will work with representatives of partner governments and others on specific challenges. The Forum concludes with a youth day on Friday 3 July.
