Stagecoach SW announce five for a fiver bus travel on Christmas and New Year bus services
Stagecoach South West have released their Christmas and New Year bus schedule detailing services over the holiday season.
To coincide with the start of late night shopping in Exeter, Stagecoach South West will be offering a '5 for a fiver' ticket, allowing five people to enjoy return travel on the Honiton Road Park and Ride for just £5 on Thursdays. Services will run from Exeter city centre to the Park and Ride until midnight, enabling people to make the most of the festive fun on offer in the city centre.
Services are set to finish slightly earlier on Christmas Eve, in preparation for the annual holiday, but routes will continue to operate until around 8pm, to ensure people can travel for work and shopping.
As in previous years, services will not operate on the two main bank holidays, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Special services will run on a number of routes on Boxing Day. Across Exeter routes 5, 9, 57, A, E and F2 will operate. In Plymouth, routes 1 and 2/2A will run, along with Torbay route 12 and the North Devon 21 service. Normal school holiday services are set to resume from 6 January onwards.
The regional Stagecoach Falcon will run until late on Christmas Eve, with the last coach heading towards Bristol leaving Plymouth at 5.20pm and Exeter at 6:31pm. The Falcon service will continue through Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, on a special timetable, for connections to Bristol. Paul Clark, Operations Director of Stagecoach South West, said: “Queues of traffic, congestion and parking can be stressful as people make their way into town to do their Christmas shopping. We are encouraging people to take the bus so that they can avoid the traffic and have stress-free travel this festive season.”
