Early in 2007, the new St Sidwell's School, York Road, Exeter opened its doors and Forever Young were the first community group to use the new hall.

The days are now over when singers used to gather around a TV and read lyrics from the screen. Now, many people who come along also sing with formal choirs but like the informal Sing for Fun sessions. Meeting on a Monday, 7-9pm, singers choose from over 600 backing tracks and then sing around 30 songs as the words are projected on the wall.

There are no auditions, rehearsals or public concerts - just singing for fun. Comments include: "Each week we choose the songs" and "Cheaper than therapy and more fun".  At £3.50 for a 2-hour session, the cost is the same as it was in 2007 and you only pay when you attend.
