A night of glamour at Exeter Racecourse
Ladies’ Night at Exeter Racecourse on Tuesday, May 9 is when the glitz and glamour of racing descend on Haldon Hill. Young and old, male and female can enjoy a fantastic night out, with children aged 17 and under racing free, and fabulous prizes on offer for the best dressed ladies and gentlemen. Grandstand and Paddock tickets are just £10 each if booked by midnight April 26.
Widely regarded as a highlight of the social calendar with live music after racing, this fabulous evening is sure to tempt racegoers to dust off their frocks and press their suit trousers, as a night of high action and entertainment concludes the season on Haldon Hill.
The first 200 ladies through the gate will receive flowers and a goody bag with fragrance and cosmetic samples kindly donated by Hoopers of Torquay. The list of prizes includes a midweek night’s stay at South Sands boutique hotel in Salcombe, including dinner, bed and breakfast for two and a fabulous Gin school experience for two to share at the Salcombe Distilling Co. (the home of Salcombe Gin) including developing and distilling your own 70cl bottle of gin, a voucher for a dress from Henry Hunt, a Somerset-based company which specialises in high quality, stylish and chic women’s wear. Second best dressed lady will win a pair of hand-crafted wellies from Salcombe-based Rudds Wellies, the perfect boot for riding, walking and spending time in the countryside. There are also Devon Hampers filled with delicious treats.
Ladies’ night is cause for further celebration with the crowning of the winner of the Exeter Racecourse intermediate series, the culmination of eight qualifying point-to-point races that have taken place across Devon and Cornwall.
The first race comes under starters’ orders at 5.45pm, the last is off at 8.15pm and then the live music will start. A free bus leaves Exeter St David’s at 4:05pm and the Bus & Coach Station at 4:20pm, returning half an hour after the last race.
