Exeter Northcott Theatre has launched a club for people who’d love to go the theatre if they had someone to go with.

The Go Together Club is free to join and makes the whole experience of a theatre trip more enjoyable than going alone.

The club is the idea of the Northcott’s Development Committee, on which Tricia Cotton and Michael Terry serve as volunteers. It was trialled with a limited number of performances last autumn and proved so successful that the number of shows is being increased for the Spring 2015 Season.

Michael Terry says, “People are often reluctant to book for the theatre on their own. Perhaps they’re new to the area or just don’t have a partner or friend to go with. We want to make going to a show more fun for them, by giving them the opportunity to enjoy it with other people.”

Tricia Cotton says, “You simply choose the performance you’d like to see and pay the normal ticket price. When you book, you leave a contact number or email address and Michael or I will get in touch. We’ll arrange to meet you in the foyer where you’ll be introduced to other members and can have a drink together in the bar, or something to eat, before the performance. And you get excellent ‘B Band’ seats!”

Michael and Tricia are also happy to help people who find it difficult getting to and from the theatre car park.

The performances Go Together Club members can enjoy this season are:

Beyond the Barricade - Friday 6th February

Mist in the Mirror - Wednesday 25th February

Nursing Lives - Thursday 26th March

The Business of Murder - Wednesday 8th April

Romeo & Juliet (Shakespeare Globe tour) - Thursday 16th April

La Boheme - Thursday 30th April

The History Boys - Wednesday 27th May

To book, simply call the Box Office on 01392 493493 and ask for a Go Together Club ticket for one of the above shows.  Tickets are cheaper if you book up to four performances at a time.
